Monique Lapins (violin), Ken Ichinose (cello) and Gabriela Glapska (piano).
The programme is titled “Between Tides” based upon the concept of a journey through time and cultural landscapes, showcasing the evolution of chamber music from the late 18th century (Beethoven) to the 20th century (Shostakovich), and finally to the contemporary era (Takemitsu, Downie). Each piece offers a distinct musical experience, reflecting the stylistic diversity and cultural richness of classical music through the lens of the piano trio. There is a world premiere of a work by New Zealand’s own Glen Downie, written especially for the Ghost Trio.
